Aldo Stops Stephens In A Round:
Jeremy Stephens entered his fight with Jose Aldo as the betting favourite and riding a 3 fight win streak but he found that Aldo isn’t quite done yet and might still earn himself another shot at UFC gold.
Stephens had success early and seemed to hurt Aldo and the signs didn’t look good for the former WEC and UFC featherweight champion. But Aldo survived the power shots of his opponent, which highlights the difference in power or maybe the precision of Stephens and Conor McGregor who ended Aldo’s title reign in just 13 seconds.
Aldo started to walk Stephens down before a vicious sickening body shot took all the life out of his opponent, Stephens sought refuge on the floor but Aldo would not be denied and it was all over at the 4:19 mark of the opening round and ended his 2 fight losing streak.
In his first ever UFC non-title fight Aldo looked as good as he has in years but Max Holloway and Brian Ortega are formidable foes standing in his way of wearing UFC gold again.
