Dave Allen: Right On The Money

Dave Allen always been a decent heavyweight in the making. Taking the better paid but unwinnable fights with the likes of Luis Ortiz and Dillian Whyte over career progression fights has harmed his career, not helped by his attitude towards training.
Taking the short notice fight against the unbeaten Nick Webb tonight at the O2 looked another bad career move, but courtesy of a big right hand in the 4th round Allen got his moment.
The fight was billed as a British title eliminator but for Allen it was so much more.
Where Allen goes from here is anyone’s guess, David Price is one name I would consider, it would benefit both. But whatever happens going forward Allen will not forget tonight and I hope now he takes the sport a little more seriously.
Allen improves to 14-4-2 Webb drops to 12-1.
