Dereck Chisora is a a case of what might have been, but now it might be a case of what could be.

Chisora has disappointed in the past but not tonight. Chisora and Carlos Takam gave us a fight that won’t quickly be forgotten.

They went toe to toe in a brutal savage fight and until the end it was Takam who looked the likely winner, until the sudden end in the 8th.

Chisora gave much but took more, laying on the ropes a little too much and despite an incredibly brave effort it looked as though it would end in defeat.

On a night where Dave Allen gave us one of those moments, but Chisora topped that and then some at the O2, and out of nowhere he has gate-crashed the world heavyweight title picture.

Chisora improves to 29-9 while Takam slips to 35-5-1.
