Conor McGregor Avoids Jail:

After accepting a plea deal and avoiding a criminal record Conor McGregor is now free to resume his UFC career.

Legal experts have said jail time was unlikely for McGregor for his involvement in the bus attack in April, and so it proved today. McGregor was charged with assault and criminal mischief for the attack in Brooklyn.

But after pleading guilty to one count of disorderly conduct all the remaining charges were dismissed as part of the plea deal.

McGregor must undertake five days of community service and also undergo anger management classes.

The former two-weight UFC champion was also issued with orders of protection against Jason Ledbetter and fighters Ray Borg and Michael Chiesa who were all hurt in the incident, and McGregor will also have to pay for the damage to the bus.

In a short statement outside the New York Court House McGregor said:

I just want to say I’m thankful to the DA {District Attorney} and the judge for allowing me to move forward. I want to say to my friends, my family, my fans: thank you for the support.”
