Woodley and Till To Headline UFC 228:
With the Interim welterweight champion Colby Covington injured the UFC have now confirmed that Tyron Woodley will defend his UFC welterweight title against the surging Darren Till at UFC 228 on September 9th at the American Airlines Center in Dallas.
Covington will be stripped of his Interim belt when Woodley and Till fight, which just proves how pointless Interim titles really are, but we can save that particular argument for another day.
Woodley (18-3-1) hasn’t fought due to injury since his disappointing fight with Demian Maia at UFC 214 in July of 2017.
Till (17-0-1) meanwhile is coming off a close, some would say lucky even, decision over Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson at UFC Liverpool in May, in a fight where Till also missed weight.
While it may be a little early for predictions I do however see Till using similar tactics to the ones he used in the Thompson fight, fighting at range and trying to avoid the power shots and takedown’s from Woodley.
The early betting lines make Woodley a slight favourite.
