UFC on FOX 30: Alvarez vs. Poirier 2

This weekend’s stacked Fight Night card has seemingly gone under the radar but we have a PPV worthy card ahead of us this weekend in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
The big rematch between Eddie Alvarez and Dustin Poirier headlines the card. It was a fight that just had to be made after all the controversy from their first meeting at UFC 211 last year. Illegal knees from Alvarez rendered the fight a No Contest when Alvarez seemed on the brink of defeat and accusations from both sides makes this fight a must see. Alvarez is rolling the dice with this fight being the last fight on his current UFC contract and hopes an impressive win earns him extra leverage with the UFC for an improved deal.
Two of the most dominant champions in UFC enter their fights on the undercard on two fight losing skids but Jose Aldo and Joanna Jedrzejczyk will hope to get their careers back on an upward trajectory in Canada.
Aldo and especially Jedrzejczyk know a 3rd loss on the bounce will almost certainly mean a change in weight division if they want to remain relevant in the title picture, so both have plenty on the line, for Aldo retirement might even be on the cards.
