UFC Fight Night Calgary will see 3 former champions attempt to fight their way back into title contention, and 3 top contenders looking towards their first title shot. Eddie Alvarez and Dustin Poirer will run back their 2017 bout that ended in controversy after an illegal knee from Alvarez.

It is no doubt that the entire card is quite possibly the most stacked Fight Night card of all time. That being said, there is always that certain fight that flys under the radar, this week we have Alexander Hernandez vs Oliver Aubin-Mercier.

Hernandez (9-1) is the UFC’s newest exciting prospect at Lightweight, making his emphatic debut and back at UFC 222 in March knocking out longtime staple of the division Beneil Dariush. Hernandez proved himself worthy to compete against the upper echelon of the 155 division.

The French Canadian, Aubin-Mercier (11-2), is one of Canada’s favorite young stars. He recently showed his breakout performance back at UFC 223 in April with a TKO win over Evan Dunham.

These two Lightweight prospects are looking to break into the top 10 with an impressive performance this weekend, one thing is for sure, one fighter will be in the headlines after Saturday.

UFC on FOX will take place at the Scotiabank Saddledome arena in Calgary, Canada.
