BAMMA London McKee v Brazier: Can Brazier Become a Two Division Champion?
By Dan McConnell

There is a huge day for British sport this Thursday 28th June when BAMMA returns to London, York Hall for a special BAMMA World Cup Fight Night. The live press conference has just finished, and if the fight is as entertaining as that we are in for an action packed night of MMA! The promotion has announced that they will be showing the crucial England v Belgium World Cup final group stage game before the event, followed by a huge night of MMA.
The main-event will feature a huge champion v champion BAMMA Lightweight world title showdown. Rhys ‘Skeletor’ McKee will make his first Lightweight world title defence against Terry ‘The Dominator’ Brazier, the current BAMMA Welterweight champion. The Northern Irish-man McKee (7-1) lost his Lightweight title to Tim Barnett at BAMMA 28 but quickly avenged this loss at BAMMA 34 regaining his coveted championship. On the same night Brazier defeated the former Welterweight kingpin Alex Lohore for the title in a huge Wembley Stadium crowd.
English-man Brazier (9-1) narrowly and somewhat controversially beat the former Welterweight champion Alex ‘Da Killa’ Lohore via split decision and has now set his sights on becoming a two weight division champion by taking McKee’s title, and in doing so potentially becoming only the second fighter in BAMMA history to reign supreme over two divisions. The other, current UFC fighter Tom Duqesnoy who won the BAMMA Bantamweight and Featherweight titles.
The co-main event of the evening features unbeaten BAMMA Heavyweight contender Chi ‘Chopper’ Lewis-Parry (6-0) against MMA veteran Lukasz ‘The Punisher’ Parobiec (12-6). Lewis-Parry will look to add his Polish counterpart to his win record in his quests for a BAMMA world title shot to dethrone champion Brett McDermott.
Anthony ‘Pretty Boy’ Taylor also features on the card against another fighter with a similar nickname in Alex ‘Pretty Boy’ Hales. Taylor who convincing submitted Dean Barry at BAMMA 35 in Dublin finished the celebrations off with an impressive ‘Rock Bottom’ celebration, Taylor certainly knows how to put on a show. Who will win the ‘Battle of the Pretty Ones?’
With BAMMA’s World Cup Fight Night ahead, make sure to clear your calendar as it is a night not to be missed. The Main-card will be LIVE on ITV4 from 9pm.
