GARCIA V MURRAY PREVIEW:
By Ryan Flynn

In a week where Frank Warren officially announced the opponent for Carl Frampton’s Windsor Park showdown, along with other great undercard fights, it’s very easy to forget there’s a Frank Warren fight card this weekend.
Roberto Garcia v Martin Murray for the WBC Silver Middleweight title is the headline fight.
Murray at the age of 35 and you wouldn’t expect the Englishman to be the youngster in the contest but that’s exactly what Martin Murray is.
His professional career started nearly 11 years ago. He began his career with a 23 fight win streak before even picking up one blemish. But this is where the losses started to rack up.
He’s had four career loses, all in world/international title fights his opponents in those fights where, Sergio Martinez, Gennady Golovkin, Arthur Abraham and George Groves, not the worst fighters to lose to of course.
An interim title aside, he seemingly appears to be unable to get over that line and seems destined to be the divisions “perennial bridesmaid”.
It’s been a period of his career which Murray himself has described as “frustrating”.
Although this fight itself won’t bring him a world title, it will certainly bring him that one step closer, and at the age of 35 who knows how many fights and opportunities Murray has left.
His opponent is the current WBC Silver Middleweight champion, Roberto Garcia, a veteran pro, made his debut in 2001 and has had a total of 45 fights since, which includes a current 13 fight win streak.
Three years the senior of Murray, Garcia also has the superior reach advantage despite being the smaller of the two.
The original fight card had Murray take on Billy Joe Saunders.
“I was gutted about Billy Joe Saunders pulling out of our fight for a second time but this is a great replacement” said Murray.
He believes there’s a lot to play for as “A good win against Garcia will put me in a strong position with the WBC”.

The fight card also has Anthony Yarde v Dariusz Sek.
The bout is for the WBO European and Intercontinental light heavyweight titles.
The really interesting part of this fight is Yarde, a KO machine, winning 15 of his 15 fights, 14 by way of knock out, will take on Sek who has not been beaten by KO in his 33 fight career. This fight has an immovable object meets the unstoppable force vibe to it.

Daniel Dubios will take on Tom Little. Dubios has started his career perfect, seven knockout victories from his seven professional fights. Little is the more experienced of the two fighters, with 15 pro bouts, but a third of those have ended in defeat.
Another domestic fight on the card will see two undefeated boxers go head to head for the English Super Middleweight title. Darryll Williams who is 16-0 with six knock out victories will take on Lennox Clarke who has 17 wins seven by knockout and one draw.
The fight card looks great, and is available to watch on BT Sport 1 and on BOX Nation this Saturday, June 23rd and is on air from 7PM.
