Cage Warriors returned to Belgium this Saturday night in the Lotto Arena, Antwerp after a hugely successful show last year. The card provided fireworks and was entertaining from top to bottom.

The main even of the evening featured two fighters who would fight for the vacant Cage Warriors Bantamweight title, which was relinquished by Nathaniel ‘The Prospect’ Wood who made the move to the UFC.

Belgium’s own Brian Bouland (7-1) was surprisingly defeated by Cage Warriors debutant Ilia Topuria (5-0) in the first round through submission via an anaconda choke, which slept the Belgian before referee Marc Goddard stepped in to wave off the contest. The Spanish man Topuria missed weight by over four pounds at yesterdays weigh-ins so isn’t eligible to have the title wrapped around his waist. Number one contender Jack Shore kept a close eye on this contest and will surely be up next for the still vacant title shot.

In the co-main event Jai Herbert defeated another Belgian in Erdi Karatas in a Lightweight fight via unanimous decision. The Brit Herbert was impressive in this contest and dominated his opponent with several takedowns throughout, while searching for the rear-naked choke, winning the contest easy in the eyes of the judges’ scorecards.
