Matchroom Boxing have announced a series of fights for the July 28th Sky PPV show at the O2 Arena.

Kell Brook has his 2nd fight at light middleweight, Katie Taylor and Joshua Buatsi are also on the bill, as is the rematch between Conor Benn and Cedric Peynaud.

Whyte v Parker is undoubtedly a good fight, but PPV worthy, not for me. The addition of Kell Brook is welcome but the opponent is low key, and the fight is very much a ticking over type of fight for Brook.

While fight fans have a choice to buy the PPV or not, to be PPV worthy it needs to be something special, with an undercard full of 50/50 fights, not a series of ‘squash’ matches.

Some of the boxers will gain financially from the PPV which is always welcome, but loyal Sky customers sometimes I feel are taken for granted.

FIGHTS ANNOUNCED SO FAR:

Dillian Whyte v Joseph Parker 12 x 3 mins Heavyweight contest
Kell Brook v Brandon Cook 12 x 3 mins Super-Welterweight contest
Katie Taylor v Kimberly Connor WBA & IBF World Lightweight Championship
Joshua Buatsi vS Ricky Summers 10 x 3 mins Light-Heavyweight contest
