Ronda Rousey to be Inducted into the UFC Hall Of Fame
By Dan McConnell

At UFC 225 on Saturday night the UFC roadshow visited Chicago for the very first time. During the broadcast it was announced live on commentary by Joe Rogan, Jon Anik and Jimmie Smith that Ronda Rousey will be inducted into the UFC’s Hall Of Fame on July 5th.
Ronda Rousey was the first ever Women’s UFC Champion and will make history as the first ever woman to be selected for induction. Rousey held the Bantamweight title from 2012-2015 which is almost unheard of in today’s close-competitive divisions. She defeated tough opponents throughout her career including her great rival Miesha Tate, Sarah Kaufman, Sara McMann, Alexis Davis and Cat Zigano.

The former Judo Olympic medallist made the jump to MMA in 2011 winning the Strikeforce Women’s Bantamweight Championship in August of that year. She went on to sign for the UFC in 2013 when Strikeforce was bought over by the UFC hierarchy.
She holds the record as the first person to have six successful title defences, second fastest finish in a title fight (14 seconds) and most arm-bar finishes in MMA history (9) and has recently made the move to start her WWE wrestling career, as well as continue her acting career outside of the octagon.
‘Rowdy’ Rousey is a pioneer, champion and legend around the mixed martial arts circle who carried the UFC banner in it’s inception as well as pose as a positive female influence for many women around the world, especially at a time when the UFC was perceived as male-dominated.
Ronda Rousey will go down in UFC and MMA history as a true pioneer of the sport and someone who opened the gateway for Women’s Mixed Martial Arts. The sport and women’s division’s wouldn’t be where they are today without her influence on the sport.
Thank you Ronda Rousey.
