Alex Hernandez: The next big thing at Lightweight?
By Eduardo Ramon
Throughout the years the UFC’s Lightweight division has been riddled with talent such as legends like Frankie Edgar, sports icons like the one and only Conor Mcgregor, and absolutely dominate competitors like Khabib Nurmagomedov.
One question fans and media alike always have is, “who’s up next?”, with Alex Hernandez, you might just have your answer.

Set to face fellow Lightweight prospect Oliver Aubin-Mercier (11-2) on July 28 live from Calgary, Hernandez (9-1) is coming off one of the best debut performances in recent memory with a 42 second knockout win over lightweight staple Beneil Dariush (14-4), and is well on his way to becoming one of the top contenders in the 155 division.
With a 22% submission win rate & a 44% knockout rate, Hernandez has proven to be anything but one dimensional, while still extremely early on his road to title contention, he’s a promising prospect and surely a fighter to keep an eye on.
