Daniel Dubois: Heavyweight Hope or Just Hype:
By Jason Knowles

Daniel Dubois, 6ft 5″, 20 years old with seven professional outings all seven victories have been inside the distance.
A perfect start in the pro ranks, this highly touted prospect can certainly punch, in all seven fights he is yet to see the fourth round.
There is a ton of hype around Dubois, not only can he punch like a jack-hammer but he looks to have decent fundamentals in the squared circle. He has a really clean, ramrod jab, that sets up a lot of his work, he doesn’t look like a twenty year old fighter in there, despite his still limited time in the sport.

People are always going to make comparisons between Dubois and Anthony Joshua at every turn, especially with the infamous sparring sessions between the pair. There are big similarities between the two. Joshua is of course the more experienced of the two, Joshua while still very much a work in progress himself, sits at the top of the heavyweight ladder.
But Dubois does seem to have something, certainly one of the best heavyweight prospect’s around today.
Dubois is still very raw and we must remember Anthony Joshua started boxing at eighteen years old, Dubois started at six, so there is no rush with Frank Warren’s big heavyweight hope, he needs handling carefully, he is still very much the novice pro.
I believe we could have a world beater in waiting in Daniel Dubois, but we will know a little more in the next 12 months when the quality of opposition will be greater than what it is currently.
Dubois returns on 23rd June and fights Tom Little.
