Billy Joe Saunders Out
For the 2nd time Billy Joe Saunders has withdrawn from his scheduled WBO middleweight title defence against Martin Murray.
This time a hamstring injury is the reason for the latest postponement, a hand injury forced the cancellation first time around.
Saunders (26-0) was due to defend his belt against Murray on June 23rd at the O2 Arena, and promoter Frank Warren has promised a full statement on the show tomorrow.
A clearly frustrated Murray said:
“We know that he’s just trying to make a big money fight with [Gennady] Golovkin or Canelo [Alvarez] and I’m too risky to fight, he just doesn’t want to fight me.”
